SIKESTON — On a night dedicated to celebrating their contributions, Sikeston’s seniors delivered an unforgettable performance, coasting to an 8-0 win against Hillsboro at Bill Lawson Memorial Field on Thursday, Oct. 24.

The Bulldogs’ victory over the Hawks (3-19-0) was more than just a win; it was a statement of how far the team has come. Matching last season’s win total,

Sikeston now boasts an impressive 11-6-1 record, a significant improvement from last year.

This achievement underscores the dedication and hard work of the seniors, who have been instrumental in turning the tide for Sikeston soccer.

“It was senior night for a great group,” said Sikeston coach Gabe Dement. “Our midfield did a great job of controlling the match and helping to maintain possession of the ball. It was a team win and we had contributions from several of the boys.”

The scoring spree was led by seniors Tristan Wiggins and PJ Farmer, each contributing two goals and an assist. Senior Will Sims and freshman Keith Branson added to the tally with a goal and an assist each, while senior goalkeeper Barrett Stokes made headlines by scoring his first goal of the season.

Sophomore Jaden Johnson also found the back of the net, and sophomore Gunner Hopkins provided an assist, showcasing the depth and talent of the team.

“This group of seniors has a positive attitude and brings a good atmosphere to the team,” Dement said. “They’ve been playing soccer together since they were pretty young and the relationships show on the field.”

Sikeston will conclude the regular season by hosting Fredericktown (5-12-0) on Monday, Oct. 28 and traveling to St. Puis X (5-10-0) on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
