Bedell’s hat trick leads Mules to win
The Poplar Bluff Mules boys soccer team ended the regular season with a bang Monday night when the Mules shut out North County 8-0.
More than that, senior Alex Bedell scored three goals to record the hat trick for the Mules (12-7-1), while Landen Deaton also had a pair of goals.
Deaton opened the scoring with an assist from Bedell, then Bedell added two more goals, one assisted by Rion Tenchavez. Caden Hambrick connected with Tobi Duncan for the fourth goal, followed by Lane Dunham’s shot with an assist from Hambrick.
Oziel Ruiz, assisted by Dylan Parish, added to the lead before Bedell netted his third goal. Deaton closed the game with another goal assisted by Bedell, securing the Mules’ commanding win.
Poplar Bluff opens district play at 5 p.m. on Saturday at Farmington against DeSoto. The winner advances to Tuesday’s semifinals.
