Four Green Wave volleyball players received All-District honors at the conclusion of their season.

Senior Mikaylyn Vipperman and sophomore Carsyn Cohen were First Team All-Districts while Junior Hestania Jackson earned Second Team All-Districts.

Along with those three, Junior Camryn Ellison earned an All-Districts honorable mention.

These four players helped carry Malden to the District Championship match this season.

Vipperman was one of two seniors for Malden this season. This made her a leader for this young Green Wave team. According to Head Coach Jennifer Sokolova, Vipperman’s volleyball IQ as the middle hitter was vital for the team’s success.

“She tipped very well and knew where to put the ball,” Sokolova said. “She is a very serious athlete. She takes practice very seriously and games seriously. She is there to get better and she is there to help improve her team.”

Vipperman finished the season as one of the leaders in points for Malden. She put down 137 kills this season and 65 aces. She was also a leader at the net defensively with a team-high 112 blocks.

Along with her IQ and leadership as the middle hitter, Vipperman was often trusted in the back row. She led the teams with digs this season. From the back row, she also completed 876 passes.

While Vipperman established herself as the senior leader, the underclassmen followed suit. This includes Cohen who became an all-around player for Sokolova and her Malden team.

Cohen finished her sophomore campaign with 123 kills, the third most on the team this season. She also had 89 blocks and 63 aces, falling right behind Vipperman for both categories.

“Carysn was a great player all around, defensively and offensively,” Sokolova said. “She was a great blocker and knew where to put the ball and was a great leader on the court and at practice. She loves to have fun but knows when to get serious. She was a hustler on the floor.”

Cohen came out as one of the team's top passers when she was in the back row. She led the team with 1108 completed passes this season.

While Vipperman and Cohen rounded out the First Team selection for Malden, Jackson earned a spot on Second Team All-Districts.

“Hestania is a beast on the front row,” Sokolova said. “When she is on, she can hit the ball very hard and make it difficult for the other team to pass.”

Jackson led her team this year with 148 kills. She also aided on defense at the net recording 34 blocks.

According to Sokolova, Jackson has improved and grown as a volleyball player.

“She has improved greatly,” Sokolova said. “She’s improved herself and helped improve our team. She’s the cheerleader for our team. She is always ready to pump her team up and get them hype for games and practices.”

Malden will be returning Cohen and Jackson, which Sokolova said will help their team a lot next season.

Ellison, who earned an honorable mention this season, is also returning to help the Malden team in 2025. She was a huge help to the team’s rotation where she recorded 100 kills and 43 aces.

“I think it’s important that we have two juniors returning who were on the All-District team,” Sokolova said. “With [Cohen, Jackson and Ellison’s] return, it gives us a powerful front and back row. If they keep putting in the work and effort, they will be hard to compete against.”
