Several players earn postseason volleyball honors
Several local players were represented when the SEMO North Conference recently released its all-conference squad.
Two Dexter players — Kate Nichols and Cali White — earned first-team all-conference honors, while two Poplar Bluff players, Ireland Gowen and Morgan Cisne, were named second-team all-conference, as was Dexter’s Avery Riley.
Jackson senior Katy St. John was named the SEMO North Player of the Year, while Jackson coach Dave Mirly was named the SEMO North Coach of the Year.

Lady Mules, Dexter earn all-district honors
Several Poplar Bluff and Dexter volleyball players also earned all-district honors in Class 4 District 1 and Class 3 District 1, respectively.
Ireland Gowen was named first-team all-district for the Lady Mules, while Morgan Cisne was named to the second team. Additionally, Kyra Mizell, Ashton Mays and Presley Tinsley received honorable mention.
Leading the way for Dexter were first-team all-district selections Kate Nichols and Cali White, while Avery Riley and Karis Kennedy were named second-team all-district and Klaire Essner received honorable mention.
OFC releases first all-conference squad
The Ozark Foothills Conference added volleyball to its official list of sports this season, and it recently announced its first-ever all-OFC squad for the sport.
The team recognizes top players in the conference, with three Puxico Lady Indians making the first-team roster — Laney Porter, Ziyi Boyco and Hanna Wilson. Also on the first-team squad are Maci Hockersmith and Raegan Null from Twin Rivers, Ashley Hall and Torie Vierck from Doniphan, Jenna Alcorn and Kristin Street from Clearwater, plus Ariel West from Greenville.
Four players received honorable mention all-OFC honors, including Makayla Hill and Bailey Casinger from Greenville, Peyton Hurt from Clearwater and Katie Acre from Twin Rivers.
Puxico head coach Paige Mays was named the OFC Coach of the Year after leading the Lady Indians to the conference championship.
