Lady Royals Christmas Classic seeds announced

Doniphan, Neelyville, Portageville and East Carter are the top four seeds at the Lady Royals Christmas Classic, which tips off next Saturday (Dec. 21) at Twin Rivers High School in Broseley. Top-seeded Doniphan and No. 2 Neelyville have first-round byes.

Also in the tournament (in seed order) are Poplar Bluff, Twin Rivers, Dexter, New Madrid County Central, Kennett, Greenville, Malden, Holcomb, Hayti and Naylor.

Portageville and Naylor kick off the tournament at noon next Saturday, followed by East Carter and Hatti at 1:15 p.m. Poplar Bluff faces Holcomb at 2:30 p.m., the host Lady Royals take on Malden at 3:45 p.m., Dexter faces Greenville at 5 p.m., with NMCC and Kennett closing today at 6:15 p.m.

Consolation quarterfinal games will take place at noon and 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, with the winners bracket quarterfinals starting at 3 p.m. as Doniphan takes on the NMCC-Kennett winner.

After a three-day break for Christmas, the tournament resumes Friday, Dec. 27, and concludes the next day.
