Puxico earns top seed at Bloomfield Christmas Tournament

The Puxico Indians are the top seed at this year’s Bloomfield Christmas Tournament.

The Indians are 5-0 this season and are winning their games by an average of 26.8 points. Three of Puxico's five wins are by 35 points or more.

The East Prairie Eagles, who finished second at last year's Bloomfield Christmas Tournament, are the No. 2 seed, with Dexter, Bernie, Kennett, Risco, Van Buren and Richland rounding out the top eight seeds.

Twin Rivers is the No. 9 seed, followed by Doniphan, Bloomfield, East Carter, Portageville, Malden (the defending champion), Holcomb and Gideon.

The tournament tips off at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, with Puxico taking on Gideon, followed by Richland and Twin Rivers at 11:15 a.m., Bernie and Portageville at 12:45 p.m., Kennett and East Carter at 2:15 p.m., East Prairie and Holcomb at 3:45 p.m., Van Buren and Doniphan at 5 p.m., Dexter and Malden at 6:30 p.m. and Risco and Bloomfield wrapping up the first day at 8 p.m.

Second-round games for both winners and consolation brackets take place Friday, Dec. 27, with semifinals and consolation semifinals slated for Saturday, Dec. 28. The tournament concludes with the championship game at 8:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30.
