Rob Tate has been with the Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff, Mo. since August 2008 and is currently the assistant sports editor. Rob was born and raised in Clawson, Mich., just 14 miles north of Detroit and is an avid Tigers, Lions, Pistons, Red Wings and University of Michigan fan. He has also adopted the Rams and Mizzou to his favorites since moving to Missouri. He is a 2008 graduate of Oakland (Mich.) University where he received his bachelor of arts in journalism. Rob and his wife Sara live in Poplar Bluff.

OFC Baseball Tournament seeds released

Just got back from the Ozark Foothills Conference baseball meeting here in Poplar Bluff.

The tournament should be real interesting as teams 2-5 have done little to break apart from each other which should make for some really entertaining games.

Here are the seeds and first-round matchups:

1. Clearwater (Bye)

2. Neelyville vs. 7. East Carter, 1:30 p.m. Monday

3. Twin Rivers vs. 6. Greenville, 4:00 p.m. Monday

4. Doniphan vs. 5. Naylor, 11:00 a.m. Monday

Right now Neelyville, Twin Rivers, Doniphan and Naylor each have three wins in conference play. Twin Rivers will play East Carter Thursday in a makeup and could perhaps win their fourth game as East Carter is 1-4 on the season in the OFC.
