Rob Tate has been with the Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff, Mo. since August 2008 and is currently the assistant sports editor. Rob was born and raised in Clawson, Mich., just 14 miles north of Detroit and is an avid Tigers, Lions, Pistons, Red Wings and University of Michigan fan. He has also adopted the Rams and Mizzou to his favorites since moving to Missouri. He is a 2008 graduate of Oakland (Mich.) University where he received his bachelor of arts in journalism. Rob and his wife Sara live in Poplar Bluff.

OFC Tourney update

The first day of action is in the books, but the first-round wasn't completed due to darkness at Raider Field on the campus of Three Rivers Community College.

The first game between No. 4 Doniphan and No. 5 Naylor went 10 innings with the Dons prevailing, 5-4.

No. 2 Neelyville beat No. 7 East Carter, 14-5

No. 3 Twin Rivers and No. 6. Greenville is deadlocked at 3-3 going into the Top of 5th. The game will be continued Tuesday at Raider Field at 11:00 a.m. with Greenville coming up to the plate.

The tournament will then continue as scheduled after with Doniphan set to play No. 1 Clearwater at noon and Neelyville vs. the winner of Twin Rivers/Greenville at 2:30.

More detailed info on the games completed Monday will be in Tuesday's Daily American Republic.
