Rob Tate has been with the Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff, Mo. since August 2008 and is currently the assistant sports editor. Rob was born and raised in Clawson, Mich., just 14 miles north of Detroit and is an avid Tigers, Lions, Pistons, Red Wings and University of Michigan fan. He has also adopted the Rams and Mizzou to his favorites since moving to Missouri. He is a 2008 graduate of Oakland (Mich.) University where he received his bachelor of arts in journalism. Rob and his wife Sara live in Poplar Bluff.

No Baseball Today

With all the heavy rain overnight and more to come in the forecast this afternoon, Greenville head coach Jason Hill called this morning just after 8:00 a.m. to say the tournament is postponed until tomorrow.

Here is the schedule for Wednesday at Raider Field

Completion of Twin Rivers-Greenville first round game, 11:00 a.m. (Game is 3-3 in Top of 5th)

No. 1 Clearwater vs. No. 4 Doniphan, noon

No. 2 Neelyville vs. No. 3 Twin Rivers- No. 6 Greenville winner, 2:30 p.m.

Hopefully the field will dry up well and play can continue Wednesday. I'm sure the coaches are happy to get the extra rest for their pitchers. Clearwater will have had four days off since its last game on Friday when they enter against Doniphan tomorrow.
