SEMO Cup on the move to Cape
Just settling in after a long day of softball districts and the SEMO Cup.
Dalhousie Country Club took home the SEMO Cup at Westwood Hills Country Club Saturday afternoon with an 11-shot win over the host.
Here's the standings from the day:
1. Dalhousie CC 673
2. Westwood Hills CC 684
3. Kimbeland CC 695
t-4. Kennett, Sikeston 710
6. Bent Creek CC 718
7. Boot Heel CC 722
8. Hidden Trails CC 725
9. Cape CC 753
10. Cape Jaycee CC 774
Although I didn't actually see him out there today, great job to Jerry Jarrell, sports writer at the Dexter Daily Statesman who competed for Hidden Trails CC. Jerry and his partner Tim Warren shot a 77 on the first 18 holes and an 85 on the second 18 holes. Way to represent those sports writers, Jerry.
Weather-wise it was a brilliant afternoon in Poplar Bluff for some good golfing. The event went without a hitch. Look for a short story on Saturday's action in the DAR Sunday and and a Westwood Hills CC feature from the tournament in Monday's DAR.
