Rob Tate has been with the Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff, Mo. since August 2008 and is currently the assistant sports editor. Rob was born and raised in Clawson, Mich., just 14 miles north of Detroit and is an avid Tigers, Lions, Pistons, Red Wings and University of Michigan fan. He has also adopted the Rams and Mizzou to his favorites since moving to Missouri. He is a 2008 graduate of Oakland (Mich.) University where he received his bachelor of arts in journalism. Rob and his wife Sara live in Poplar Bluff.

2013 Malden Baseball Invitational

The Malden Invitational Tournament will consist of three pools of three teams. All games will be played at Malden High School on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13.

At the completion of games on Friday, teams will be re-pooled for pool play on Saturday. Teams who finished third in each pool will be grouped together as will teams who finished second in each pool and first in each pool (championship pool). This will allow all teams to play four games and allow all games to be competitive. If necessary, a tie-breaker of least runs allowed by a team will be used to determine pools.

Pool 1: Malden, Doniphan, Greenville
Pool 2: Holcomb, Chaffee, Advance
Pool 3: Bernie, Portageville, New Madrid

Friday, April 12 games -- Field 1
11 a.m. Chaffee vs. Holcomb
1 p.m. Chaffee vs. Advance
3 p.m. Malden vs. Doniphan
5 p.m. Portageville vs. NMCC
7 p.m. Malden vs. Greenville

Friday, April 12 games -- Field 2
1 p.m. Bernie vs. Portageville
3 p.m. Holcomb vs. Advance
5 p.m. Doniphan vs. Greenville
7 p.m. Bernie vs. NMCC

nope.. 10:00 and nobody knows when they play.. I know Chaffee and Malden are in pool 1 and advance is pool 3 and Holcomb pool 2

It may have been because the last game wasn't over yet. Not saying that's the reason, but that was a possibility.
