Rob Tate has been with the Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff, Mo. since August 2008 and is currently the assistant sports editor. Rob was born and raised in Clawson, Mich., just 14 miles north of Detroit and is an avid Tigers, Lions, Pistons, Red Wings and University of Michigan fan. He has also adopted the Rams and Mizzou to his favorites since moving to Missouri. He is a 2008 graduate of Oakland (Mich.) University where he received his bachelor of arts in journalism. Rob and his wife Sara live in Poplar Bluff.

2013 Current River Challenge

The 2013 boys basketball First Midwest Bank Current River Challenge will take place Friday, Nov. 29 and Saturday, Nov. 30 at Van Buren High School. Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for students.

Here is the schedule for both days:

Bunker vs. Greenville, 9:30 a.m.
Summersville vs. Meadow Heights, 11 a.m.
Cabool vs. Gideon, 12:30 p.m.
East Carter vs. Mountain View-Liberty, 2 p.m.
Clarkton vs. Alton, 3:30 p.m.
Doniphan vs. Winona, 5 p.m.
Risco vs. Eminence, 6:30 p.m.
Van Buren vs. Puxico, 8 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 30
Meadow Heights vs. Koshkonong, 9:30 a.m.
East Carter vs. Thayer, 11 a.m.
Ellington vs. Rector (Ark.), 12:30 p.m.
