Rob Tate has been with the Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff, Mo. since August 2008 and is currently the assistant sports editor. Rob was born and raised in Clawson, Mich., just 14 miles north of Detroit and is an avid Tigers, Lions, Pistons, Red Wings and University of Michigan fan. He has also adopted the Rams and Mizzou to his favorites since moving to Missouri. He is a 2008 graduate of Oakland (Mich.) University where he received his bachelor of arts in journalism. Rob and his wife Sara live in Poplar Bluff.

Madison Pickens from kennett was 11-0 as a pitcher and batted .400 on the season and nothing. Interesting.

How does tbat work ,do the coaches nominate their own kids or can any coach nominate any kid from any team. I have always wondered how it works?

Coach nominates players or most conferences and districts do it that way.

I wonder why he would not nominate a kid with 4-5 shutouts 11pitching wins and batteed .400. and most wins were in conference?

squawdad. How do you know he didn't nominate this particular girl? Maybe he did and she just didn't receive enough votes. Coaches CAN'T vote for their own kids. Your team just won the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP! Don't sweat the small stuff.

Im sure he probably did the others probably got tired of hearing kennett kids names. Great season and congrats to all the lady indians.
