Rob Tate has been with the Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff, Mo. since August 2008 and is currently the assistant sports editor. Rob was born and raised in Clawson, Mich., just 14 miles north of Detroit and is an avid Tigers, Lions, Pistons, Red Wings and University of Michigan fan. He has also adopted the Rams and Mizzou to his favorites since moving to Missouri. He is a 2008 graduate of Oakland (Mich.) University where he received his bachelor of arts in journalism. Rob and his wife Sara live in Poplar Bluff.

The Poplar Bluff Mules Senior Babe Ruth summer baseball season gets underway 6 p.m. Saturday as they host Senath Senior Babe at Strenfel Memorial Field. Here is the roster and the schedule for this season.

It wil be interesting if anyone can compete with Charleston and Leopold this summer. It remains to be seen if Pemiscot County Legion or Leopold Babe Ruth was the real winner in the very unfortunate departure of Dunklin County Post 303 Legion.

Bluff will be a lot better than last year, they aren't gonna go down easy by any means, they will be a top 3 team in senior babe
