Highlights from Rachel's days in college include having a class down the hall from Chase Daniel and having NCAA wrestling champion Ben Askren hold the door open for her at Brady Commons, Mizzou's student center. She spent time covering Mizzou basketball, softball and baseball while working for the Columbia Missourian and is excited to return home to Southeast Missouri to cover local sports for semoball.com.
Rachel has covered three Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournaments for the Southeast Missourian and semoball.com, and she'll see you courtside again this year.
High school basketball is here!
It's kind of hard to miss on the home page, but just in case you're being referred to this blog from another site click here for the high school basketball preview.
We'll be adding a few more previews and a lot more schedules and rosters to the team pages in the coming days. Clerks Cassie and Jordan have been working hour after hour to get as many of them up for you as possible and they've made a big dent in our massive stack. Hopefully we'll be caught up within the week. Then we'll get back to bugging the schools that haven't sent us schedules yet. :)
I hope you've noticed our high school basketball scoreboard on the front page as well. We'll be adding scores and boxes to that section as they are called in to our media partners by coaches each night.
The idea is to get you the scores and boxes as quickly as possible with stories to follow later in the night, or, in some cases, the following day. I assume this process will get quicker and smoother as we work our way through the season.
We're also adding new basketball TeamTrackers almost every day right now, meaning all schools have a chance to be featured on semoball. Multiple coaches have even signed up to track their teams. Look for more and more TeamTracker reports as the season progresses.
If you find yourself at basically every game a team plays, you might want to consider becoming a TeamTracker yourself. You can apply here.
I should also mention that the high school basketball forum is another great place to get your hoops information this season. Smart-phone toting semoball fans have been updating threads before, during and after games. Of course, the forums are also a great place to discuss games and matchups in the lulls between contests.
